Bucknell University will hold a Summer Program for rising High School Seniors (juniors heading into their senior year). About 80 students will be selected to participate in the program offered at Bucknell University. Participants in the The Shaping Your World: Social Media in the 21st Century Program will join Bucknell Professors in exploring how social media influences political action, artistic expression, business, scientific understanding, innovation and other areas of life. The Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp will be held at Lebanon Valley College from June 23-28. The Health and Biomedical Sciences Camp will provide a fun, challenging and engaging college environment in which students will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a biomedical scientist and health professional. Through lectures and hands-on laboratory investigations in state-of-the-art laboratories, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, biochemistry and medical ethics. Students will learn how laboratory science can be translated into improved human health, and they will engage in investigation experiences that will allow them to apply their laboratory skills to real life problems.
