Garnet Valley School District routinely conducts screening activities at each gradel level, from kindergarten through graduation, to identify the educational needs of its students.  Students who experience academic or other difficulties may be referred to the Instructional Support Team (grades K-5) or Child Study Team (grades 6-12).  Parents may initiate the IST or CST process by contacting their child's teacher or guidance counselor.  A request for an evaluation for special education services must be put in writing.  The Request for Evaluation form is available at each building through the guidance office and in the Parents' Handbook for Special Education Services.
