Pick-up/Drop-off Procedures

Morning Drop-off (8:20 to 8:50) and Afternoon Pick-up (3:10 to 3:20) for all students

Although the district provides bus transportation for all students, parents may choose to drive their children to school in the morning and /or pick them up at the end of the school day. Please regard the map on the reverse side of this paper to learn where to drop off students in the morning and where to pick them up in the afternoon. When facing the school from Foulk Road, the Drop-off/Pick-up area is on your right (the gym door that is closest to the front of the school.) Enter the driveway from Foulk Road and hear to the right and follow the arrows as indicated on the map.

Please do not get out of the car.  Please instruct your child as to how to. let him/herself out of the car. The distance to/from the gym. door to your car is quite short and a school employee will be at the door to guide your child safely to/from the gym.

A.M.:

In the morning please do not drop off your child before 8:20 A.M. There will be no supervision before that time. A paraprofessional will monitor the students in the gym until 8:40, at which time he/she will send the students to their classrooms. Students who will be attending the YMCA program at Bethel Springs will be also be dismissed to their classrooms at 8:40. There will be supervision in the hallways as students make their way to their classrooms where the teachers will be waiting.

P.M.:

In the aftemoon please pick up your child no later than 3:20 P.M. There will be no supervision after this time.

Also, please notify the school in. writing (preferable) or call the school when your child's dismissal procedure will be different than us11a1, i.e., your child usually takes the bus home but is being picked up or vice versa. If there will be a regular pattern to how your child will get home from school it would be best to give this to his/her teacher in writing (e.g. Susan will take the bus home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but will be picked up from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.) If there is a deviation from the pattern you should notify the teacher in writing or call the school office. Notification of earlv dismissal should be given in writing to your child's teacher who will then notify the school office.

Students who attend certain after-school care programs will go to the gym at the end of the day along with all students who will be picked up by parents/designees. The school personnel will monitor students until their vans from their respective after-school programs come to pick them up (no later than 3:20). Students who will attend the YMCA after-school program at Bethel Springs will go to this program at dismissal time.
