Amount of the scholarship: $1,000. CHRISTOPHER FORD KEPPEL SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Christopher Ford Keppel. Christopher was born with a genetic condition that presented him with numerous challenges. He died at two and a half after fighting bravely to overcome them all. At a young age, he learned to eat on his own to get beyond the tube feeding, he learned sign language to empower himself with communication until he could gain the power to speak, and he bravely endured a nasal airway at bedtime to beat the respiratory challenges that threatened him every night during sleep. He overcame all of these challenges with courage and resolve, all the while making it clear he was ready for more. Scholarship applicants must have faced and overcome similar challenges brought on by a physical disability and meet the criteria:
The Trust Committee will be awarding two scholarships in the amount of $5,000 per year for a total scholarship of $20,000 over four years of the recipient's college career. If the applicant applies to a two-year program, then the total scholarship will be $10,000. The recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better and be a student of good moral character in order to retain the scholarship each year. FINER WOMANHOOD COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incoorporated's Rho Chi Zeta Chapter is offering a $500 Scholarship. UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURG BALANCED MAN SCHOLARSHIP The Pennsylvania Gamma of Sigma Phi Fraternity is offering Balanced Man Scholarships totaling $1750 to the outstanding freshman males entering The University of Pittsburg Main Campus next year.
