Ryan, a member of Troop 260, is the 115th Scout in the troop’s history to achieve this distinguished honor.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Ryan led Scouts and community volunteers in contributing 131 hours of service to Bush Hill Farm in Concord Township. Together, they built and installed three storyboard signs highlighting the property’s history, local wildlife, and goats at the barn, along with a recycled-plastic bench where visitors can sit and enjoy the pond and surrounding outdoors.
Congratulations, Ryan, on this outstanding accomplishment! Your leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving your community make Garnet Valley proud. 🐾

In Garnet Valley, purposeful technology use means choosing the right tool, at the right time, for the right reason. Sometimes that is an iPad or computer. Other times it is a book, pencil, conversation, hands-on activity, time with classmates, or simply putting the device away.
Through Screen Smart GV, we are continuing to think carefully about how we help students develop healthy and responsible technology habits at school. Families are an important part of that work too.
One simple way to continue the conversation at home is to create a Family Technology Agreement together.
Talk with your children about when devices should be put away, expectations around bedtime and meals, appropriate apps and social media, online safety, and how technology fits alongside sleep, exercise, reading, hobbies, friendships, and family time.
To help families get started, we are sharing Qustodio’s Family Technology Agreement and Guide, with conversation starters and recommendations for ages 4 through 8, 9 through 11, 12 through 14, and 15 and older.
The goal is not simply to create rules. It is to help children understand why healthy technology boundaries matter and give them a voice in creating those expectations.

We will continue sharing Screen Smart GV resources throughout the school year to support families at every age and stage. 💭

We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the ordinary people who helped one another in extraordinary circumstances, and the families whose lives were forever changed.
Twenty-five years later, we remain committed to ensuring that future generations understand the significance of this day and the lessons of courage, compassion, service, and unity that emerged from one of the most difficult moments in our nation’s history.
Today, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

During 9th Grade Orientation on Wednesday, August 19, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., all incoming freshmen will receive their school-issued MacBook.
MacBook distribution will take place in the Garnet Valley High School gym at the conclusion of orientation. Before leaving for the day, students will be directed to the gym to pick up their device and any related materials.
Students should plan to remain for the full orientation program so they do not miss the distribution process. Additional information about device use, care, account access, and technology support will be shared during orientation and at pickup.
We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2030 to Garnet Valley High School and helping every student begin the school year prepared for success.

As part of the ongoing Pennington Project, the Garnet Valley School District network will be offline on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. This planned shutdown is necessary as crews relocate fiber optic lines and complete other critical infrastructure maintenance.
During this time:
* 🏫 All district buildings will remain open.
* 🌐 Internet access will be unavailable.
* ☎️ Phone service will be unavailable until the work is complete.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important upgrades to our district's technology infrastructure. Thank you for your continued support.

Garnet Valley High School will host 9th Grade Orientation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Garnet Valley High School.
This is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to get familiar with the building, meet members of the GVHS community, and begin preparing for a successful start to high school.
We look forward to welcoming our newest Jaguars!
