Last Day of School

On Friday, Bethel Springs Elementary School came together for the 2026 Service Awareness Walk!

Students proudly walked around campus wearing t-shirts representing charities and organizations that are meaningful to them. They also created colorful signs to raise awareness for the causes they chose to support, sharing messages of kindness, hope, advocacy, and service.

The campus was filled with smiles, music, and positive energy as students celebrated the importance of giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. This special event provided an opportunity for our students to learn about causes that impact communities both locally and around the world while demonstrating the compassion and empathy that make Bethel Springs such a remarkable place.

We are so proud of our students for using their voices to support causes they care about and for showing that even small actions can create meaningful change. ❤️

We are thrilled to celebrate an outstanding evening for Garnet Valley Performing Arts at the 2026 Greater Philadelphia Cappies Gala!

The Cappies, or Critics and Awards Program, recognizes excellence in student theater while also giving students the opportunity to grow as thoughtful theater critics. This year, Garnet Valley’s student critic team included Cole Miller, Lauren Cusick, Emma Moran, Lexi Weaver, Aidan Simpkiss, and Addi Cooper. Each student attended six productions and submitted reviews throughout the season.

Garnet Valley’s production of Footloose earned incredible recognition, including:

🏆 Best Musical
🏆 Best Dance Ensemble
🏆 Cole Miller – Best Leading Actor in a Musical
🏆 Cole Miller – Casey Feldman Memorial Scholarship
🏆 Lauren Cusick – Best Featured Actress
🏆 Devan Truax – Best Supporting Actor
🏆 Michael Stuardi – Spirit Award

We are also proud to recognize our additional nominees: Sebastian Nguyen, Michael Stuardi, Layla McCloskey, Lauren Cusick, Stage Management, Stage Crew, Sets, Sound, and Lighting. Thank you to Avery Wesoloski, Ella Saunders, and Jack Johnston for representing our crew at the gala.

A special congratulations also goes to Quinn Olinger and Ethan Spector for participating in the opening number, and to the thirty members of the Footloose company who performed during the Best Musical and Best Song number at the gala.

These accomplishments reflect the extraordinary talent, dedication, and hard work of our students, staff, families, volunteers, and the entire Garnet Valley community. We are especially grateful for the leadership and support of our GVHS staff and administrators, maintenance staff led by Bob Sanderson, parent volunteers, the music department, music director Krista Thomas, pit orchestra, choreographer Pat Murray, GVPAA production staff, and Cappies mentors Mr. Moran and Ms. Meghan Arters.

We are also grateful to Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Miller for helping Garnet Valley host visiting critics during our production of Footloose. Their organization and support helped create a welcoming and productive experience for students across the region.

After a season marked by tremendous effort, resilience, and community support, including the challenges caused by our devastating flood, this recognition is especially meaningful.

Congratulations to everyone involved in Footloose and the 2026 Cappies season. GV is so proud! 🎉

🇺🇸 Today we honor and remember.

On Memorial Day, Garnet Valley joins communities across the nation in remembering the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the values of courage, service, and commitment that help shape our nation and our communities. As we gather with family and friends today, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served and never returned home.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

🌏🎨📚 Bethel Springs Elementary is taking a journey through China at this year’s Art & Literature Fling!

Today, students will explore creative projects inspired by Chinese art, literature, culture, and traditions. Throughout the fling, students can scan QR codes to learn more about each display and hear the stories, research, and inspiration behind the projects created by their classmates.

This interactive experience brings learning to life while celebrating creativity, curiosity, and global connections. A special thank you to Mrs. Gamino, Ms. Esher, Mrs. Buck, Mrs. Blake, and Mr. Carroll for helping students bring this incredible experience to life through their guidance, creativity, and support. We are so proud of the hard work and imagination our students have shared! 🐾

The survey measures key aspects of workplace culture, including employees feeling respected, supported, empowered, and encouraged to grow.

At GVSD, we know that strong schools begin with strong people. We remain committed to hiring and supporting exceptional teachers, staff, and administrators who work every day to maximize student potential and create meaningful learning experiences for all students.

Thank you to our dedicated faculty, staff, and leadership teams for making Garnet Valley a place where both students and employees thrive. Your commitment to excellence continues to shape the future of our schools and community. 💙💛

2026-2027 Parent Training Needs Assessment

The Garnet Valley Communities That Care or (GV CTC) engages the community and schools in a partnership to support, educate, parent and prepare our children to grow into healthy adults. It supports efforts such as the New Realities of Parenting seminars, Senior Walk through, and scholarships for students in Garnet Valley.

This week, the GVCTC is taking part in Delco Gives Day, the county's largest celebration of generosity. It is a county-wide giving movement that brings people together to support the nonprofits that strengthen our community. Hosted by The Foundation for Delaware County, the next Delco Gives will take place May 6–7, 2026.

During this week, any donations of $10 or more you make to the GV CTC through Delco Gives Day will get a matching donation from the Foundation. It doesn't matter the amount as long as its $10 or more. In the past two year's events each individual donation has been matched by between $25 and $30! That means that your $10 donation could net the GVCTC as much as $40!

Use the following link to be taken to the Delco Gives site where you can donate: Delco Gives Day 2026.
