🐾💙 Hard work pays off in the most heartwarming ways!

Ms. Cruz’s 4th-grade class at Garnet Valley Elementary reached their marble goal and earned a very special reward—a visit from Princess Leia, the therapy dog! 🐶✨

Students had the opportunity to spend time petting, relaxing, and connecting with Princess Leia, celebrating their teamwork and positive behavior. Moments like these remind us of the importance of building a supportive and encouraging classroom community.

Way to go, Ms. Cruz’s class—you’ve earned it! 🎉

A group of elementary-aged students sit closely together outdoors, gathered around a medium-sized black therapy dog with long, fluffy fur. The dog is wearing a light blue bandana and is attached to a bright pink leash. Several children’s hands gently pet the dog’s back and head, showing care and excitement. The students are dressed in jackets and casual clothing, suggesting cool weather. The mood is warm and joyful, with the dog calmly receiving attention from all sides.

⏰ Friendly reminder for GV families: Friday, March 27, is the last day to register for our summer camps!

If your child is planning to join us for summer learning, fun, and new experiences, be sure to complete registration before the deadline. Our camps are a great way for students to stay engaged, make connections, and enjoy a memorable summer with GV.

Please don’t wait until the last minute—secure your spot by Friday's deadline! We won't be able to accept registrations after that date.

GV is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day by “Rocking Our Socks”!

While March 21st is recognized globally, our students and staff showed their support a little early today by wearing bright, bold, and mismatched socks. This fun tradition helps spark important conversations about inclusion, acceptance, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed on 3/21 to represent the triplication of the 21st chromosome. The “Rock Your Socks” campaign is a simple yet powerful way to raise awareness and show support for individuals with Down syndrome.

We are proud of our GV community for coming together to spread kindness, understanding, and inclusion—one colorful sock at a time! 💛💙

The Bethel Springs 2nd Grade Wax Museum was a huge success!

Our second graders transformed into famous figures from history, sports, science, the arts, and beyond. Each student selected a notable individual, studied their life and accomplishments, and created a speech based on their findings.

Families were invited to tour the “exhibits” as special guests. When visitors stopped and pressed the red button, the living statues came to life; delivering their speeches while staying fully in character.

With the guidance and support of their dedicated teachers and classroom paraprofessionals, students demonstrated strong research skills and creativity. We are so proud of the effort, focus, and enthusiasm they showed throughout this memorable experience.

Awesome job to our outstanding 2nd graders for bringing history to life!

📱✨ Screen Smart GV in Action at Bethel Springs Elementary! ✨📱

Our K–2 students at Bethel Springs Elementary recently participated in Screen Smart GV, an engaging and interactive presentation led by Julie Devine and Garnet Valley High School students.

Together, they explored important topics such as digital footprints, safe technology use, and what it means to be a responsible digital citizen.

Our youngest Jaguars eagerly raised their hands to answer questions, shared thoughtful ideas about balancing screen time, and demonstrated a strong understanding of how to make smart choices online. It was inspiring to see our high school students modeling leadership while empowering elementary learners with the tools they need to navigate today’s digital world safely and confidently.

Thank you to Julie Devine and our GVHS presenters for supporting responsible technology use across our district!

Exciting 3d Prints for CKLA Units!

Today, teachers at Bethel Springs Elementary participated in an AI Pop-Up Professional Learning session focused on using artificial intelligence (AI) thoughtfully and responsibly to support their work. Our instructional coaches led various stations that explored practical ways AI can enhance lesson design, streamline planning, analyze student data, and personalize learning while keeping student thinking and strong instruction at the center. We’re proud of our educators for continuing to grow, adapt, and explore tools that help them better serve our students. Learning never stops in Garnet Valley, especially for our teachers! ☘️
