📱💡 Garnet Valley students are taking the lead on an important issue impacting today’s youth and healthy technology use.

Recently featured by CBS Philadelphia, members of our Garnet Valley High School student-led initiative, Garnet Valley Screen Smart, visited Bethel Springs Elementary to help third graders build positive habits around screen time. Through engaging conversations and real-life strategies, our students are empowering younger learners to find balance in a digital world.

From setting time limits to prioritizing responsibilities and unplugging to enjoy outdoor activities, these lessons are already making an impact and it’s all driven by our students leading by example.

We are incredibly proud of these student leaders for turning awareness into action and helping shape a healthier future for our school community. 💙

Garnet Valley excellence is in the spotlight! CBS3 anchor Jan Carabeo chats with GVHS student-athletes Neve O’Byrne & Paxton Hunt to highlight their incredible wrestling seasons—and what a story they have to tell.

Neve became a 2x PIAA State Champion, finishing a perfect 32-0 season with every match won by bonus points—an extraordinary accomplishment that showcases her dominance on the mat.

Paxton also had an outstanding season. He was a PIAA State Finalist and finished 2nd in the state with an impressive 46-2 record.

Joining them was their proud coach, Mr. Tate, whose leadership and dedication continue to elevate GV wrestling to new heights.

Join us in congratulating Neve & Paxton. We are so proud of them for representing Garnet Valley with determination, sportsmanship, and excellence! 💪🐾 Be sure to tune into CBS3 this Friday & Saturday morning to catch the interview!

April 2nd is World Autism Acceptance Day.

April is also Autism Acceptance Month—a time to deepen our understanding and continue building inclusive, supportive communities.

Today, we celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions of individuals with autism across our GV community and beyond.

Autism acceptance is about more than awareness—it’s about creating inclusive environments where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

We encourage our community to continue learning, listening, and embracing neurodiversity—not just today, but every day.

✡️🌷 Wishing a meaningful Passover to all members of the Garnet Valley community who celebrate.

Passover is a time of reflection, tradition, and gathering with family and friends. The holiday commemorates the journey to freedom and is marked by the sharing of the Seder meal, storytelling, and the passing down of traditions from one generation to the next.

We wish peace, joy, and meaningful moments to all who are observing Passover. Chag Sameach!

🧁🐾 Sweet success in Mrs. Ricevuto’s class!

Students had a blast during a fun “Cupcake Wars” challenge—baking from scratch and getting creative with their cupcake decorations. Each group brought their own unique flair to the competition!

Teachers took on the role of judges, tasting and scoring each creation. While picking winners was tough, everyone had a great time learning and working together.

Great job to all of our student bakers! 🎉

Kindergarten students at CES recently wrapped up their CKLA Knowledge unit on Native Americans! Students explored what life was like in the Wampanoag, Lenape, and Lakota tribes, making connections to similarities and differences within their own communities.

In addition to learning about Native American cultures, students practiced writing complete sentences to share their knowledge. This learning will continue as students revisit Native American studies in both 3rd and 5th grade as part of the CKLA curriculum.

In Ms. Kunze's 6th grade Earth Science classes, students are bringing Earth’s 4.5 billion-year history to life by creating scaled timelines, where just 2 meters represents the entire lifespan of our planet. Through research and creativity, they are transforming their timelines into interactive “museum exhibits,” complete with informative blurbs.

Ms. Cruz’s 4th-grade class at Garnet Valley Elementary reached their marble goal and earned a very special reward—a visit from Princess Leia, the therapy dog! 🐶✨

Students had the opportunity to spend time petting, relaxing, and connecting with Princess Leia, celebrating their teamwork and positive behavior. Moments like these remind us of the importance of building a supportive and encouraging classroom community.

Way to go, Ms. Cruz’s class—you’ve earned it! 🎉

A group of elementary-aged students sit closely together outdoors, gathered around a medium-sized black therapy dog with long, fluffy fur. The dog is wearing a light blue bandana and is attached to a bright pink leash. Several children’s hands gently pet the dog’s back and head, showing care and excitement. The students are dressed in jackets and casual clothing, suggesting cool weather. The mood is warm and joyful, with the dog calmly receiving attention from all sides.

GV is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day by “Rocking Our Socks”!

While March 21st is recognized globally, our students and staff showed their support a little early today by wearing bright, bold, and mismatched socks. This fun tradition helps spark important conversations about inclusion, acceptance, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed on 3/21 to represent the triplication of the 21st chromosome. The “Rock Your Socks” campaign is a simple yet powerful way to raise awareness and show support for individuals with Down syndrome.

We are proud of our GV community for coming together to spread kindness, understanding, and inclusion—one colorful sock at a time! 💛💙
